We know she earns her blogging keep by posting hysterical rants against anything “Bush” or “Republican” or “right” for that matter (assuming any definition of the word “right.”)
But what does it say when Howler has to resort to quoting WorldNetDaily in her latest attempt to slam the President?
Desperation? Boredom? No way to get the prescription refilled over Memorial Day weekend?
Howler ran across Jerome Corsi’s comments regarding the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive.
Our new happy couple, Howler and Jerome seem to think this allows President Bush to declare himself a “dictator.” They neglect of course the fact that a Continuity of Operations plan has been around since the Eisenhower Administration. And they neglect to point out that the Bush directive replaces PDD-NSC-67 Enduring Constitutional Governmentand Continuity of Government Operations (U) 21 October 1998 from the Clinton Administration.
Of course we can’t compare the two side-by-side since thanks to the Clinton White House The text of PDD-67 has not been released, and there is no White House Factsheet summarizing its provisions.
Are all the provisions of this Presidential Directive a good thing? Quite frankly, I haven’t spent enough time on it to know for sure.
But with Howler AND Corsi running both running around in their hysteria, I’m far less inclined to believe the sky is falling.
